Welcome to a new informal, online series from thi wurd. These sporadic mini-events will take place throughout 2026 and be brief – no more than an hour. They’ll generate new writing, new thoughts, new processes. They’ll bring together wurd regulars with new writers. As ever, they’re open to anyone, anywhere in the world. It might be a small gathering or a large gathering – it’s hard to tell. Let’s keep it lo-fi and relaxed. It’s all about the writing.

The first session takes place on Mon 2nd Feb at the bargain price of £5. The topic will be ‘Improvising New Writing’.

The class will start with a brief discussion of form and process, then we’ll attempt two 15 minute pieces of writing based on prompts. It’s incredible what can be achieved in 30 minutes. After that we’ll hopefully hear a couple of the pieces read aloud. We’ll end with some final comments on the subject of improvising writing.
