On Friday 10th May 2024, we present our latest live event at The Dining Hall in Glasgow University Union. The night features literary readings, visual art, curated playlists and stalls selling books and artworks.
thi wurd has a reputation for putting on incredible literary events in Glasgow – where people travel from across the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe, the USA and beyond to attend. This occasion will be no different, and we look forward to another packed audience, enjoying an immersive night of literary art.
Earthly Rewards is our new anthology of fiction, poetry & experimental writing, continuing our exciting collaboration with internationally-renowned painters Lorna Robertson and Andrew Cranston. This time it is Lorna who provides the cover art, while Andy’s artworks are throughout the book. All going to plan, the artists will join us on the night.

Earthly Rewards will be our longest and – in terms of contributors – most international publication to date. As ever, thi wurd begins with its heart in Glasgow, but in this project we reach out across countries and continents to unveil a selection beyond anything we’ve presented so far. If Earthly Rewards was a Beatles’ album it would surely be The White Album: eclectic, innovative, a huge canvas of thrilling juxtapositions, the miniature, the grand, the profound, the amusing, the experimental, the sublime – an accidentally cohesive work, compiled without maps. It’s our classic double-album. In fact, a late idea was to split the manuscript into two books due to length. But instead we went for one big book and for the reader it’s truly great value for money.
