“I would have followed you in the door but I didn’t have a ticket stub” (‘Up To Me’ Bob Dylan)

On Saturday 8th March 2025, at Stereo in Glasgow, thi wurd will present a literary & musical tribute to Bob Dylan’s iconic 1975 release ‘Blood on the Tracks’. The night will feature fiction, poetry, film and live music. And, of course, we’ll be talking about the classic album itself in the year of its 50th anniversary.

Readings

“She opened up a book of poems and handed it to me” (‘Tangled Up in Blue’ Bob Dylan)

We’ll hear readings of stories and poetry inspired by the songs that make up Dylan’s greatest ever collection. There will also be readings of some of Dylan’s finest lyrics, as well as insights into his work during the mid-70s.

Live Music

“There was music in the cafés at night/ And revolution in the air” (‘Tangled Up in Blue’ Bob Dylan)

I’m delighted we’ll have live performances of songs from the album. The musicians taking part are: Stevie Jackson (Belle & Sebastian), Francis Macdonald (Teenage Fanclub), Rachel Gaughan and Marigold.

The Night

“He felt the heat of the night hit him like a freight train” (‘Simple Twist of Fate’ Bob Dylan)

If you’re a Bob Dylan fan, then this one’s for you. However, even if you aren’t a fan, or have just come to his work recently through the film ‘A Complete Unknown’, you’ll also enjoy this fantastic event, filled with literary, musical and visual art.

Doors open at 7pm, show begins 7.30pm sharp. There’ll be a break from 8.30-9.00pm to allow people to browse thi wurd’s stall, which will be selling books, magazines, totes, t-shirts, badges & more.

For people who’ve enjoyed our events in the past, this will have all the components of our popular literary nights, with an added theme centred around 2016 Nobel Prize winner for Literature, Mr Bob Dylan.

Aftershow

“Time is a jet plane, it moves too fast/ Oh but what a shame if all we’ve shared can’t last” (‘You’re a Big Girl Now’ Bob Dylan)

The show ends at 10pm. And those wishing to stay on can join us in the venue bar upstairs for more discussion. And you can find out about thi wurd’s publication plans and events for the rest of 2025.

Let me say a special thanks to the incredible community that works with, and supports, thi wurd. And we’re looking forward to meeting new people on Sat 8 March. Please ‘spread thi wurd’ to those you know who may be interested in this exciting one-off event.

Please join us if you can. Note this is strictly an 18+ event. If you are under 25, make sure you bring ID. See you there.
