Our online event ‘107 Word Short Story’ takes place on Thursday 24th March 7-9pm (UK time). It will feature around 30 writers, each reading stories of 107 words in length. Selections of the best of these may feature in a forthcoming publication from thi wurd.

If you’re a writer and would like to take part, please write two short fictions, each of which should be exactly 107 words. Send the stories as word doc attachments to editor@thi-wurd.com by 10pm on Monday 21st March. The best works will be considered for publication and two writers will be chosen to read at our event. There’s no theme or prescribed subject-matter.

This opportunity is open to writers anywhere in the world and we look forward to receiving your submissions. If you don’t hear back from us by 12pm on Wednesday 23rd March, then your work hasn’t been selected this time, but we do appreciate your submission and hope you’ll send work to thi wurd in the future.

As well as being a celebration of very short stories, the event brings our winter term of classes to an end. Writers from our Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday groups will be presenting new work alongside guest readers. For those interested, our new class ‘Writing Fiction’ begins with two separate groups on Tuesday 19th & Wednesday 20th April, 7-9pm. And our class ‘Writing Fiction (An Introduction)’ begins Sunday 24th April 6-8pm. All groups run for 10 consecutive weeks. New writers are welcome. Details here.
